The School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the American University in Cairo in cooperation with the UNESCO and League of Arab States’ Media and Communication sector will hold a conference titled “Media Policies and Freedom of Expression” on 25-26 February.
The conference will tackle an array of topics regarding media in Egypt and the Arab world, including: media policies in transitional democracies; the future of audio-visual media in Egypt; international models of media regulations; suggested models of independent media councils, responsible freedoms in the light of media laws; the role of independent public opinion centers; the role of media during election coverage; internet regulations in the Arab world; media code of ethics for radio and television and factors of media reform in Egypt.
The conference will host speakers and moderators from a renowned group of officials, media professionals and school deans, including:
