Autopsy report: Ferguson teen shot 6 times by police – Al-Tahrir News Network

The autopsy for US shooting victim Michael Brown indicates that he was shot six times by a police officer, including two shots to the head.

Brown, who was killed after an alleged confrontation with the officer, was reportedly unarmed and was shot from a distance of 35 feet (10.6 m).

The autopsy also revealed that he was possibly in the middle of surrendering, which did not stop the police officer from continuing to fire his weapon. One of the wounds Brown sustained was in the “very top of his head”, which could be an indication that he was lowering his head in surrender.

“His head was in a downward position,” said the lawyer for Brown’s family, Daryl Parks. “Given those kind of facts, this officer should have been arrested.”

Brown’s shooting has sparked several days of protesting in Ferguson, Missouri with reports of looting and several clashes with police.

Police are alleging that the protesters were becoming increasingly violent, prompting Missouri Governor Jay Nixon to call in the National Guard.

“Tonight, a day of hope, prayers, and peaceful protests was marred by the violent criminal acts of an organised and growing number of individuals, many from outside the community and state, whose actions are putting the residents and businesses of Ferguson at risk,” Nixon said in a statement on his website.
