Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin struck the audience on Friday night surprisingly performing with Kings of Leon during their concert at Hollywood Bowl.
Chris Martin made a surprise appearance, on Friday night, at the Hollywood Bowl, in Hollywood, as he joined the Nashville rock band on stage for two songs during their concert.
Kings of Leon were performing during their gig in Los Angeles when they unexpectedly brought out Coldplay’s singer to perform ‘Talihina Sky’ and ‘Notion’.
Martin played the piano and sang Kings of Leon’s track off their 2003 debut album ‘Youth & Young Manhood’, which they rarely play live. The song also inspired the 2011 documentary of the band.
Martin also performed Kings of Leon’s single ‘Notion’ from the 2008 ‘Only By The Night’ album during the Hollywood show which was part of the band’s ‘Mechanical Bull’ world tour to promote their 2013 album of the same name.
Martin’s new girlfriend, Jennifer Lawrence, was attending the show backstage. The two started dating recently after the singer split from his wife, actress Gwyneth Paltrow.
It is not the first time for Coldplay’s lead singer to join the rock band on stage as, earlier this year, they played ‘Fans’ together at Radio One’s Big Weekend show in Glasgow, Scotland.
Can these joint performances be considered as the beginning of a new sound-based superband? While waiting for further surprise collaborations, listen to this!
