Oil Minister Sherif Ismail said on Wednesday that Egypt had paid $2.1 billion of its outstanding debts to foreign energy companies. Ismail said in a statement the payment was the third batch of repayments to energy firms, which began in December last year, adding that the government still owes $3.1 billion.
