Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have tied the knot

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard rare reportedly officially married.

If the handsome actor’s fans are dying to see the most provocative pirate wearing, you might be waiting for a long time.

According to reports, the newly married got married on 3 February at their Los Angeles home ahead of a planned ceremony set to take place on Depps’ private island in the Bahamas next weekend.

A source had previously told US Weekly, “It will be a really simple ceremony. Things are in a great place with them.”

Depp, 51, and Heard, 28, met on the set of the 2011 ‘The Rum Diary’ and began dating in 2012 following the actor’s split from his 14-year partnership with Vanessa Paradis with whom he has two children.

The news of Depp and Heard’s romantic link broke early last year when the beautiful actress and model was spotted with an engagement ring.

The two celebrated with a private yet star-studded bash and the ‘Mortdecai’ star himself confirmed the engagement news in March 2014 telling the Associated Press: “The fact that I’m wearing a chick’s ring on my finger is probably a dead giveaway. Not very subtle.” An insider close to the two told US Weekly that the ring Depp gave to his fiancée was “too big for her, so he started wearing it.”

At the time of his relationship with his long-time partner Vanessa, Depp explained the reason why they never got married and the Daily Mail quoted him as saying: “I never found myself needing that piece of paper. Marriage is really from soul to soul, heart to heart. You don’t need somebody to say, OK you’re married.”

Well, five years after his statement, the Pirate of the Caribbean has evidently changed his perspective as he officially made it legal with Heard on Tuesday before flying to the star’s 45-acre own island for a bigger ceremony.
