After announcing last month the launch of their new NX-1 smart camera, Samsung is preparing a project which will see American actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt teaming up with the electronics giant to demonstrate their premium interchangeable-lens camera.
Samsung announced on October 24 that the actor, producer and director Gordon-Levitt will be producing a short film, titled ‘In A City’, which will be entirely shot on the compact 4K camera.
As part of the campaign, the star of ‘Third Rock from the Sun’ and ‘Inception’, will direct the short film by taking to the streets of cities around the world to explore the landscapes and daily experiences of people who live there, with the hope of delivering engrossing footage.

Gordon-Levitt will seek to prove the quality of the camera and document lives around the world, and share the experiences globally.
Executive Vice President of Global Marketing, IT & Mobile Division at Samsung Electronics Younghee Lee said: “We’re thrilled to partner with Joseph on this project and are confident that his creative talent, combined with the capabilities of the NX1, will create a memorable short film that captures the lives of consumers in cities across the globe”, Wrap magazine reports.
But to put together ‘In A City’ he will be looking for other members to participate so the actor is calling on creative and amateur filmmakers from around the world to join him in putting the piece together.
And guess what?
On October 28 Gordon-Levitt took to Twitter to ask Egyptians to help him shoot footage for the project.
