Kesha sues music producer for sexual abuse

The singer Kesha has accused her long-time producer Dr. Luke of sexual abuse.

The 27-year-old pop singer Kesha has sued Dr. Luke, whose real name is Lukasz Gottwald, for sexual assault and battery.

The producer has physically, verbally and sexually abused Kesha for years making her take drugs and drink alcohol in order to remover her defences. He has been abusive and made sexual advances towards the singer since she signed with his Kemosabe label at age 18.

According to US Weekly, Dr. Luke, who is known for producing some of the post popular pop music songs of the past decade and working with artists such as Katy Perry, Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus, forced her to take “sober pills”.

Lawsuit files read that Kesha woke up naked in his bed, the following day, unable to remember how she ended up in the place.

Dr. Luke threatened to destroy the ‘Tik Tok’ singer’s career and both her and her family’s lives if she ever reported him or revealed the rape to anyone.

He allegedly insulted her physical appearance causing her to suffer from bulimia and depression as his comments contributed to her battle against an eating disorder for which she entered rehab, on January, to receive treatment.

Kesha’s attorney told TMZ: “This lawsuit is a wholehearted effort by Kesha to regain control of her music career and her personal freedom after suffering for ten years as a victim of mental manipulation, emotional abuse and an instance of sexual assault at the hands of Dr. Luke.”

Kesha is reportedly asking the judge to be released from her contract with Luke.
