The 48th annual Country Music Association (CMA) Awards ceremony was held on 5 November at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, and saw Miranda Lambert as the biggest winner.

Hosted for the seventh time by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, the event honoured artists for their work in the past year in 12 different categories.

After that, Paisley and Underwood kicked off the night by setting the mood with their opening monologues and comedic performances.

Early on in the evening, four-time CMA Entertainer of the Year Kenny Chensney performed his new single ‘American Kids’ followed by a duet between Miranda Lambert and Meghan Trainor for a rendition of the latter’s hit ‘All About That Bass’.

Another key moment came when Kacey Musgraves, after being awarded the Song of the Year, performed with Loretta Lynn ‘You’re Looking at Country’.

Amazing performances by a plethora of artists graced the event, creating a classic country-sound atmosphere worthy of the awards ceremony.

American artist Miranda Lambert, the “Queen” of the ceremony, took home Album of the Year (‘Platinum’), Single of the Year (‘Acrobatic’) and Female Vocalist of the Year awards.

Her husband, Blake Shelton, picked up the Male Vocalist of the Year award for the fifth year in a row.
