The Miss Egypt 2014 event ‘Gamalek Ya Masr’ is getting ready to crown the queens of its three international competitions: Miss Egypt 2014, Miss Egypt Earth 2014 and Miss Egypt World 2014.

The beauty pageant started on August 27th at Sofitel El Gezirah hotel in Cairo and will end, throughout an agenda full of activities, functions, anxieties, international guests and media at Maritim Jolie Ville Sharm El Sheikh International Congress Center, on September 26th, with a press conference to be held on September 28th to announce the winners.

Each titleholder will qualify for the international competition to represent Egypt. For the first time in the competition’s history, the 16 to 18 contestants of the event will be broadcast on TV. They are also competing to see who will represent Egypt at the Miss International, Miss Intercontinental, Miss Grand International and Miss Supranational beauty competitions.

This year’s event is organized by the advertising agency Face to Face and Let’s Take Care of the Planet in collaboration with Mehwar Television Network.

Not only is the competition highlighting beauty and style, it’s also bringing awareness to environmental issues.

‘Let’s Take Care of the Planet’, a collaborative project by Egypt and the UN, aims to promote humanitarian, environmental and sustainable development through learning about and sharing information about environmental maintenance.

The pre-final will take place on September 19th in Cairo’s Citadel where the contestants will be evaluated and judged according to personality, style and fitness. It will also be where the final top 10 will be determined.

A press conference will officially announce the event to local, regional and international media and honour such international guests as Miss Universe 2009, Miss Earth 2012, Miss Intercontinental 2013, Miss Austria Earth 2013 and Miss Tunisia 2014.

The final night of the pageant will take place on September 26th where the top 10 contestants will compete for the last time in front of an esteemed panel of judges to decide who will be the representative(s) of beauty for Egypt in and out of the country.
